Valknut Odin's Seal
Called Valknut or W, is a from Germanic mythology
originating symbol, which consists of three knotted triangles.
The etymology derives it from valr ‚warriors fallen in battle and thus knut knots
away. For the most part, historically it has actually been associated with
Battle scenes, sacrificial scenes or with Odin/Wotan on picture stones as well as
represented by rune stones.
Its meaning points to the Trinity of life, death and resurrection. Mostly
is also a pictured fylgia (animal following spirit) always
in depicted scenes
associated with the Valknut. Made up of three interlocking triangles
existing symbol clearly has Trinity symbolism.
The interpretations are extremely diverse, such as. Past, present and
future It is also often associated with the three brothers: Wotan, Vili and
Vé, who slew the giant Ymir, ending the reign of the giants
There are also interpretations that the Valknut is a symbol for the three Norns
(Goddesses of Destiny) or watch for the 9 Worlds.
The Wotan's Knot is also known as Hrungnir's Heart, derived from a giant,
who challenged Odin and was slain by Thor.Odin's symbol is represented by a
Circle of Runes of Ancient Futhark completed.
