Bronze Irminsul
The world pillar Irminsul represents the stylized world ash tree (Yggdrasil ), which with its
outspread bears the vault of heaven. It is one of the most famous sanctuaries
of the old Germans, in particular that of the Saxons. The sanctuary symbolizes the
connection between heaven and earth. It is said that if this connection
is interrupted, the world becomes unequal and the end of all times is imminent.
The poet Goethe described the Irminsul as the primal plant, which is depicted in the tree of life
Motives found their performance after the destruction by Charlemagne. The ancient Germans
despite their differences, revered the same cosmic principle of the world axis and
the world soul, which is in harmony with the world pillar.
The exact meaning of the name Irminsul has not been clearly clarified to this day. However, it will
suspects that it is an expression for the all-world pillar or the all-world pillar of
Oak trades.
The sanctuary was a central place for the Germanic tribes and served as a meeting place
for council meetings and religious ceremonies. Throughout history, the Irminsul
however, destroyed by the Franks to subjugate the Christianized Saxons.
Despite this, the Irminsul remains an important symbol in Germanic mythology and has until
today holds a strong meaning for those connected to the ancient Norse culture
feel. Our bronze replica is a faithful representation of the original and a valuable
Collector's item for anyone interested in Germanic history and mythology.
To this day, the Irminsul stands for a unified worldview and worship. Our
Irminsul was made in bronze and on both sides based on original finds.
