Ax of Perun - Triqueta
Slavic pendant of the ax of the god of thunder, each with a triqueta and a horn triskelion
decorated. The ax was favored by the Rus and the West Slavs as a tribute and a symbol of power
of Perun worn around his neck.
Archaeological finds were found in the Slavic countries of the Baltic States, Poland, the
Ukraine and western Russia.They are considered symbols of the sun and lightning and embody
the unity of these energies. Also as a symbol of protection against natural forces
they understood. The ax can be carried on both sides.
The triqueta, also called triquetta or triquetra, consists of
three connected circular arcs. The name comes from Latin
and means triangular or knot of trinity or simply triangle.
