Triqueta in runic circle
The triqueta, also called triquetta or triquetra, consists of three connected
circular arcs. The name comes from Latin and means triangular or
Trinity knot or simply triangle.
From the Celtic world e.g. on celtic crosses the female
changes Symbol to a male symbol in Christianity e.g. in Gothic Art.
In Wicca she is a symbol of the Trinity Goddess (Virgin, Mother, Old Lady).
The symbol is many thousands of years old and is used by different cultures around the
world used. It is most likely that the triquetra was the symbol for the Celts
of the Trinity of the Divine.
