Fenrir
Fenrir, also called Fenriswolf, Vánagandr or Fenrisúlfr, is the first child of the god
Loki and the giantess Angrboda in Norse mythology. He has many siblings, only
the Midgard Serpent and the goddess of death Hel came from the same mother.
He is probably the most tragic figure in Norse mythology. Raised by the Wanen god Tyr, the gods began to fear him simply because of his size and strength and wanted to put him in chains, with his foster father lost his hand because he put it in the mouth of the wolf as a pledge.
Of this shackle that bears the name of Gleipnir, of the dwarves of sinew of bears, the
breath of fishes, the beards of women, the saliva of birds, the roots of mountains and
made with the sound of a running cat, it will transform itself into Ragnarök the
Liberate the Twilight of the Gods.
There he will kill the godfather Odin, but died himself at the hands of his son Vidar
come. The Fenriswolf is not to be confused with the wolves Skalli and Hati, they are
his twin sons chasing the sun and moon across the sky and sending them to Ragnarök
will be devoured.
This account is found in only one source, according to others Fenrir devours himself
the sun at Ragnarök. Geri and Freki are the wolves at Odin's side.
