Cú Chulainn is a figure from Ireland's Celtic mythology. He is the most important
fighter and hero among the followers of Conchobar mac Nessa, a warrior
association from the "Red Branch" for a legendary king of Ulster.
Cú Chulainn's deeds were recorded in a collection of old and middle Irish
stories, the so-called Irish-Gaelic Ulster cycle.
At 17, although he tied himself to a tree so as not to fall over, fighting with
only one hand, he stopped the Connacht army all by himself.
